Gourmet BBQ Sauce
The Best BBQ Sauce in the World! Granted I have not tried every BBQ Sauce that has ever been made, but my BBQ Sauce is by far better than any commercial product I have been exposed to. This sauce is a complex product that has immeasurable mouth feel and beautiful depth of flavours. The opening salvo begins with a robust ginger pepperyness, followed closely by a rounded sweetness and a muted fruited acidity, the middle arrives in force but with a pleasant warmth of high level mid-range heat (there are a few chilli in the mix), this mixture closes with the trailing flavours of tamarind, garlic and a hint of smokiness (from the way I process the onions). The entire experience leaves your mouth with a light buzz that simply calls for more. Oh yeah, it is good on meat as well.
See our recipe section for cooking inspiration. The salmon recipe is a must try.
Honey Peach Jalapeño Dipping Sauce
Honey Peach Jalapeno Dipping Sauce is a dipping sauce for grown-ups; it makes even a fast food chicken strips a grown-up, gourmet meal. Bye, Bye plum sauce, hello Honey Peach Jalapeno Dipping Sauce for egg and spring rolls. The crisp texture of the oriental rolls, and the sweet, fruity, spicy flavours of the sauce are a perfect combo. As a glaze, it’s wonderful for pan-fried chicken and pork, but on ham it will make you the “Host with the Most” after you use the Honey Peach Jalapeno Dipping Sauce for those special occasions.
XX Hot Sauce
New from Redhead Pantry is our Gourmet XX Hot Sauce. To start, it has heat, the double X's are there for a reason, but it is hot with a purpose. It can be used on a number of items, including chicken wings, omelettes or anything else that needs a "kicker" such as chilli or spaghetti. It is a blend of select peppers that add their own heat and fruitiness. To this we add more fruitiness with apple cider vinegar and Wellesley's Apple Syrup. This sauce is so amazing that I have converted restaurant staff to use it instead of their own hot sauce. The bottle has a truly hot label matched only by the gourmet taste.
Mustards
Chilli
Hot. This is not your mother's pale brown hot dog mustard. We start with whole mustard seeds (Brown Mustard Seeds are the ones that pack the punch) and grind these seeds along with a few Red Chillies. We blend the remaining ingredients and put the mustard into the refrigerator to quickly cool the mixture, which intensifies the pungency of the fresh ground mustard seeds. If the mixture is left at room temperature before packaging, the mustard looses a lot of its intensity. This mustard is excellent (when used within your personal tolerance level) on sandwiches, hams, roast pork, beef and sausages.
Tarragon
Tantalises the taste buds. This full-bodied condiment is prepared from fresh ground yellow mustard seeds and fresh tarragon, which gives it bite. The remaining ingredients are blended together and the mustard is placed into the refrigerator to preserve the pungency of the fresh ground mustard. This mustard is excellent as a rub, in preparation of pot roast or rotisserie roast. Additionally it sets the standard for sandwiches, a customer of ours jokes that he might eliminate the butter and meat in his sandwich so that he can better enjoy the mustard. I think that this mustard is pretty good, but I am not sure I am willing to give up my sliced meat just yet.
